As a 501c3 non-profit, CNU relies on the support of its members and allies to maintain its status as the leading organization working towards walkable, equitable urbanism. And as a non-profit, all donations to CNU are 100% tax-deductible.
Memories I recall often are visting my grandmother's neighborhood on the westside of Detroit and sitting on the porch chatting with freinds, walking to the corner store, riding bikes to Stewart Park, playing Curb Ball in the street, running after the ice cream truck, and having to be home before the street lights come on. I didn't realize it at the time but the foundation for these fond memories are good urban design practices. I've since dedicated my entire professional career to creating quality neighborhoods - like my grandmother's - for everyone. And there's no organization doing a better job helping to create quality neighborhoods across the country than the Congress for the New Urbanism. It's why I'm a member. There are many things the CNU does. Chief among them are being advocates for more affordable and accessible housing, taking a holistic approach to city building, and creating livable places that everyone has access to.
Contributions to CNU support programming such as the Legacy Projects, Charter Awards, and Project for Code Reform, as well as publications like The 25 Great Ideas of New Urbanism and Freeways Without Futures, plus our signature journal, Public Square.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
CNU believes that the way we design our cities, towns, and neighborhoods must be a part of how we respond to these complex challenges, and how we expand the social, economic, and environmental opportunities available to all members of the community.
